Hi everyone, it’s Trip with Kim!
If you’re flying out of Incheon International Airport Terminal 1, you may want to stop by a lounge before your flight. On my recent trip to the U.S., I visited Matina Lounge (East Wing) and had a great experience.
In this guide, I’ll cover:
✅ How to find Matina Lounge in Terminal 1
✅ Lounge facilities, seating, and amenities
✅ Food options and overall experience
Let’s dive into the details!
📍 Location: Terminal 1, Airside, 4th Floor (East Wing)
🕒 Operating Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM
⏳ Waiting Time: Moderate (Peak hours can be busy)
After passing through security and immigration, head to Gate 11 and take the escalator up to the 4th floor. You’ll find Matina Lounge (East Wing) located near other premium lounges.
🔹 Tip: Incheon Airport Terminal 1 has two Matina Lounges (East and West). If one is crowded, you may want to check the other!
🛂 Who Can Access Matina Lounge?
If you don’t have a credit card that grants free lounge access, you can still enter by purchasing a lounge pass.
During peak travel hours, expect a short waiting time before entering. The queue moves quickly, and most people stay for about 30–40 minutes to eat and rest before boarding.
Once inside, you’ll find a variety of seating:
✔ Dining tables – Perfect for eating before your flight
✔ Lounge chairs – Ideal for resting and working
✔ Quiet area – Located deeper inside the lounge for a more peaceful environment
🔹 Tip: Ask the staff if there’s available seating in the back section, which is often quieter than the main area.
🚿 Shower rooms are available from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. If you’re arriving after a long day or need to freshen up before your flight, take advantage of the clean and well-stocked facilities.
🍽 Buffet-style meals are the main attraction in Matina Lounge. Here’s what you can expect:
🔹 Tip: If you’re flying on a budget airline (LCC) without free meals, have a full meal at the loungebefore your flight!
Since I was flying economy on a long-haul flight, I wanted to eat a proper meal before boarding. The lounge was busy, but I managed to find a quiet seat near the back.
✔ Food Quality: Comparable to a casual buffet restaurant
✔ Atmosphere: Crowded but well-maintained
✔ Value for Money: Great if you have free access or a discounted pass
✅ Yes! If you’re flying low-cost airlines or have a long layover, it’s a great place to eat, relax, and freshen up before your flight.
❌ No, if: You prefer a more exclusive, quiet lounge. For that, business-class airline lounges may be a better option.
Matina Lounge at Incheon Airport Terminal 1 (East Wing) offers a solid selection of food, comfortable seating, and useful amenities like showers. If you have lounge access through your credit card or airline status, it’s worth a visitbefore your flight.
Safe travels, and see you in the next guide! ✈️
