Hi everyone, it’s Trip with Kim!
If you’re traveling to Tokyo and looking for the best observation deck for a breathtaking cityscape, Shibuya Sky is a must-visit. Located in the heart of Shibuya, this rooftop observation deck offers panoramic views of Tokyo, including the iconic Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji on clear days.
However, securing tickets for sunset and night views requires advance booking. In this guide, I’ll cover:
✅ How to book Shibuya Sky tickets (best time & method)
✅ How to get to Shibuya Sky from Shibuya Station
✅ Best photo spots and must-see attractions inside the observation deck
Let’s dive into everything you need to know to get the best experience at Shibuya Sky!
📍 Name: Shibuya Sky
📌 Location: Shibuya Scramble Square, 2-24-12, Shibuya, Tokyo
🎟 Ticket Price: ¥2,200 (~$15)
⏰ Opening Hours: 10:00 AM – 10:30 PM (last entry at 9:20 PM)
💡 Tip: If you miss the sunset slots, book for the next available night slot to still enjoy the stunning Tokyo night skyline.
It is located inside Shibuya Scramble Square, right next to Shibuya Station.
1️⃣ Exit via Shibuya Station’s Hachiko Exit and walk towards Shibuya Scramble Square.
2️⃣ Enter the building and take the elevator straight to the 14th floor (Shibuya Sky entrance).
3️⃣ Present your pre-booked ticket (QR code from Klook) at the counter.
💡 Tip: If you arrive early, explore the Shibuya Scramble Square shopping mall or grab a coffee at the Starbucks with a view of the famous Shibuya Crossing.
Shibuya Sky is an open-air rooftop observation deck, so some items are not allowed for safety reasons.
Once you check in, take the escalator to the rooftop for the main viewing experience.
I booked my ticket 30 minutes before sunset, and it was the perfect timing. Watching Tokyo transition from golden hour to night was absolutely magical!
💡 Tip: If you don’t want to buy a drink, you can still see Tokyo Tower from other areas, but your view will be slightly obstructed.
It has a rooftop bar, offering drinks like:
🍾 Champagne
🍺 Beer
🥤 Special Shibuya Cola
While the drink prices are high, buying one grants you access to the best Tokyo Tower view spot.
💡 Tip: If you want a reserved table in the bar area, you must book in advance.
📍 Shibuya Scramble Crossing View
From the rooftop, you can look directly down at the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing, where thousands of people cross at once.
📍 Indoor Lounge & Gift Shop
After enjoying the rooftop, head to the indoor lounge for a warmer, quieter atmosphere. The gift shop sells cute souvenirs featuring Hachiko, Shibuya’s famous dog.
💡 Tip: If you’re visiting in winter, bring a warm jacket – the rooftop can get very windy!
